What are the guidelines for appearing in teacher eligibility test (TET)?

The West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted throughout West Bengal Board of Primary Education to recruit the teachers for Class first to class eighth in the schools of West Bengal. TET is a very popular exam taken by people all across the state. The guidelines however have seen some changes in this Coronavirus situation.

The exams have been postponed for 2020 seeing the global COVID-19 pandemic. Here are the guidelines you need to know about for this examination.

Eligibility Criteria for TET

TET coaching

  • The applicant must have completed Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (HS/SS) or equivalent to 12th class exam with at least 50% marks and 2 years diploma course in elementary education (D.El.Ed.)

OR

  • 12th standard (Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary) or equivalent exam with at least 50% marks and 2 years bachelors in elementary education (B.El.Ed.)

OR

  • Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or equivalent to 12th exam with minimum 50% marks and diploma in education (Special Education) recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)

OR

  • Graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DEI.Ed)
